After a long wait and a rather heated meeting today Ollie did his first ever full day at school
We prepared Ollie for this day over the past few days just so it stays fresh with him. He began to get quite excited on the walk to school this morning as he would get to play 'in peanut'.
So after the usual being knocked over by an Ollie hug i left him to it.
Today didn't really feel much different but i did find my self 'clock watching' around the time i would usually leave to collect him.
Home time came and Ollie came out really happy. After collecting his sister we went back to talk to his teacher. She was really happy to tell us that Ollie had a lovely day and again off we went to find the deputy head.
We got to the office to find the deputy head AND the head in there!
After Ollie proceeded to eat all of the heads snacks we began.
She said that after observing him today she was really happy with how well he had coped and how he had joined in with all the activities.
At dinner time he played with his sister Katie and her friend. Katie tells me he was really good and just wanted to explore every part of the playground and field
At this point i really cant help but feel quite smug about it all. We told them that he would cope if you just go diving in! Why oh why cant they just take our word for it, after all are we not the one who know him best? Do they really thing we would put this kind of pressure on Ollie if we knew he wouldn't cope?
So Tomorrow im happy to say Ollie continues to go full time at school
