Today saw us at an appointment with Ollies development pead.
Had lots of questions and lot i wanted to talk about but to be honest i didnt need to ask them as the pead just knew what we wanted to know. She was very up front, layed all the cards on the table and tells you as it is. No beating about the bush with this woman!
Ollie is being set up to have a Multi-disaplinary assesment where he will over the course of a week be seen by and OT (occupational therapist) PT (physio therapist) SaLT (speech and lanugage therapist) a Psycologist and who ever else they would want him to see. The will assess his needs and his abilities. On the Friday we will have a big meeting to discus all the assesments and be given an official diagnosis.....Unfortunatly we have to wait until March 2012 for this!
Ollies MRI is being sent off to a specialist in order to gain a second opinon as although it was clear/normal, the pead wants it double checked just to be sure nothing has been missed.
Ollie is also being refered to a genetisist so they can look deeper into things and to see if there is a genetic cause or link to his issues.
We can also without a doubt say Ollie does not have cerebral palsy!
Kind of bitter sweet really because it now leaves a big unaswered question as to why he is so hypotonic and has a degree of motor delay.
But as the title suggests we are moving forward.
