Well yet again it been a long couple of months.
First off some good news. Ollie EEG came back normal though he seems to be having more and more 'moments' through out the day. Have managed to catch some on video ready for the pead to view when we see him next. So its a wait out on that one.
We receive a date for Ollie multi-disciplinary assessments, then it was cancelled re-arranged, cancelled again!!!! finally after emailing the pead we were given the dates.
This all went ahead last week and what a hell of a week its been!
Ollie was assessed by Occupational Therapy, Physio Therapy, Speech and Language Therapist, Psychologist and Portage.
On Friday 27th April we had a meeting with all involved and Ollie at the age of 2.5 years was diagnosed with Autism.
Although we will never really know the severity of it yet but it is looking to be more towards the low functioning end of the spectrum due to his total lack of communication and understanding.
He has been booked onto a 6 week program similar to 'Early birds' which the national autistic society run
Ollie physical issues are to be looked at closer and he is to go back for a full neuro-developmental assessment in the next couple of months.
And finally he is being given help with postural seating!!!
Its been a long and hard journey to this point but we now know which road we will be taking and surprisingly(those from the UK will understand) he has so much support behind him!
In other news we are now about to declare war against his Physiotherapist!..... that is another story all together!
